Join a new quantum machine learning company backed by venture-builder Cambridge Future Tech and three leading UK universities. AmorphiQ is on a mission to unlock competitive performance through time-series data analysis using a novel machine learning modality leveraging interacting quantum properties.
The founding team are developing a proprietary machine learning architecture to find nuanced patterns within complex datasets for high-value industries, like the financial services, whilst reducing the overall costs associated with traditional neural networks. We’re looking for a visionary Chief Executive Officer to turn this breakthrough into the industry standard for complex time-series data analysis to drive cutting-edge commercial performance.

As CEO you will own the commercial roadmap, from early-stage company building to global market penetration. You’ll steer fundraising, product-market fit, and strategic partnerships while working shoulder-to-shoulder with the inventing scientists and the Cambridge Future Tech venture-building team. You will need to work with existing stakeholders in both Cambridge and London (UK) with additional flexibility for travel to customers, partners, and investors.
This is a rare opportunity to join as a CEO of an early-stage start-up with support of a venture studio. With technical development over many years, core assets secured, and qualified commercial and investor interest in the venture, the role of the CEO is to come in and deliver this traction into a successful, growing company. On top of this, Cambridge Future Tech will provide direct support via a team of experienced start-up operators, analysts and sector experts on payroll, who are there to support you through the critical formative stages of the venture. This is designed to de-risk the development of the venture to deliver maximum impact, both societal and financial, for all stakeholders.

Scale the venture: Set strategy, define milestones, and build a world-class team that can take quantum machine learning from pilot to mainstream.
Raise capital: Lead equity and grant funding rounds; manage investor relationships and board governance.
Drive commercial adoption: Secure pilot and partnerships with adopters in the financial, energy, automated manufacturing sectors and beyond.
Champion the vision: Represent the company at conferences, in the media, and with policymakers to position us as the go-to solution for deriving next-generation insights from time-series data.

Demonstrated C-level or founder leadership in deep tech or future of compute start-ups – you will effectively have cofounder responsibilities upon joining.
Successful fund-raising track record (across early-stage venture capital, grants, and/or other mechanisms).
Hands-on experience in scaling cloud compute from pilot to large-scale enterprise deployment
Deep industry network across computing and relevant future commercial partners.
Fluent communicator and public speaker able to inspire technical teams, investors, and customers alike.
Background in advanced/quantum computing across sectors like finance, energy, defence (or other) strongly preferred

AmorphiQ is a pre-funding early-stage venture that will be at the forefront of quantum reservoir computing, solving critical bottlenecks in data insight generation in various high-value industries. The position will be associated with a significant equity-incentive in a highgrowth startup. However, flexibility around short-term pay will be required from successful applicants during the early stages of venture development.
