Senior Software and Integration Engineer | Noema
Overview
Company: Noema Signal Labs
Location: UK-based.
Role (Part-Time / Full-Time): Full-Time
Application Deadline: 03 July 2026
-
Noema Signal Labs Ltd is an early- stage venture backed by Cambridge Future Tech, commercialising a breakthrough signal processing framework that dramatically increases spectral efficiency across wireless communications networks. The core technology can be integrated into existing network layers to enable significantly more data transmission over any given spectrum. Target applications span 5G, non-terrestrial networks (NTN), satellite communications, and defence-grade wireless infrastructure.
-
We are looking for a Senior Software and Integration Engineer to help us bring this technology into commercial-grade 5G RAN systems. You will work at the heart of turning a breakthrough algorithm into real-world, deployable infrastructure, integrating advanced MIMO signal processing into live RAN platforms and helping define the engineering foundations the company will build on as it scales toward 6G, NTN and defence-grade deployments.
This is a key technical role within a small, fast-moving team, working in close collaboration with the founding technical team, algorithm researchers and hardware engineers, with direct influence over how the technology is implemented, tested and proven in the field.
-
Develop and integrate software for 5G RAN systems across the PHY and MAC layers.
Integrate advanced MIMO signal processing algorithms into commercial and open-source RAN platforms.
Optimise real-time signal processing workloads for low-latency baseband architectures.
Support system integration, testing, and performance evaluation of 5G radio access network solutions.
Work closely with algorithm, software, and hardware engineers to deliver high-performance implementations.
-
Strong C/C++ programming skills with experience developing software for 5G RAN systems.
Good understanding of 3GPP NR Layer 1 and Layer 2 specifications.
Familiarity with FAPI/nFAPI interfaces.
Understanding of MIMO algorithms, HARQ processes, and MAC scheduling.
Experience with Linux-based development environments.
Expertise in CPU-level optimisation using SIMD/AVX intrinsics for real-time signal processing workloads.
Strong understanding of 5G NR timing requirements and low-latency baseband architectures.
-
Familiarity with OpenAirInterface (OAI) and/or srsRAN/O-CU/O-DU codebases.
Experience integrating and testing 5G RAN systems, including hands-on experience with SDR platforms, commercial radio units (RUs), or similar wireless infrastructure.
Experience with GPU acceleration (CUDA/OpenCL) for signal processing workloads.
Familiarity with performance profiling and optimisation tools.
-
The opportunity to work on cutting-edge wireless communications technology with proven, trial-validated performance gains.
A key technical role within a growing deep-tech startup, with real influence over product direction.
Close collaboration with leading researchers and industry partners.
The opportunity to help shape the future direction of our products and technology as the company scales toward 6G, NTN and defence markets.
