April 2026 update from CFT

Cambridge Future Tech's portfolio valued at over $100M.

Ventures that wouldn’t otherwise exist. Co-founded and built from day zero.

We’re incredibly proud of this milestone for a deliberately high-conviction portfolio. $100M isn't a result of volume, but of disciplined execution, applied consistently, at the hardest stage of venture creation - pre-incorporation.

Our model directly aligns with the UK’s broader focus on capability in AI, quantum, advanced materials and next-generation compute.

At time of writing, two of our newest ventures, AmorphiQ and Coherence Engine, have been selected for the DTC Quantum Incubator, a government backed, nationally strategic quantum commercialisation pipeline led by the Science and Technology Facilities Council in collaboration with UK Research and Innovation's National Quantum Computing Centre.

We are building ventures for sovereign capability.

The UK has an opportunity to lead here, and we intend to be part of making that happen.

From Glasgow to Southampton, our scouting network continues to surface deep science with commercial potential before the market sees it.

NEWS FROM THE PORTFOLIO

Early stage portfolio ventures to attracting exceptional founders, early validation and committed capital:

  • Coherence Engine - fresh investment closed this quarter, with new partnership signed and Raspberry Pi co-founder Liz Upton joining as Chair.

  • AmpliSi - The Sheffield spinout closed its £2M pre-seed round, accelerating commercialisation of porous silicon anode technology.

  • AmorphiQ - $400K secured from NATO DIANA, Innovate UK and NQCC as the company launches its £4M raise.

Across the wider portfolio, earlier ventures are now converting technical breakthroughs into commercial traction:

  • Literal Labs - launched Modelmill, its first commercial software product, moving its breakthrough AI into market deployment.

  • SAIF - delivered its Nexus MVP to applied intuition as part of the British Army’s software defined swarms programme.

  • OmniBuds - Launched first commercial white-label product, alongside new platform capebilities and early access to its research systems.
