This is not a Q4 update
We wanted to do a wrap up of 2025…but 50% of our newly formed ventures are imminently announcing significant closes with world-leading investors - so we can’t mention those yet.
And, of our most successful companies last year, PR on their raises is embargoed. Their tech and their products are so cutting-edge that public profiling would be a risk until they hit later rounds.
So that makes this update awkward.
Instead, I want to talk about ‘venture building’.
It’s a saturated market, filled with high-volume accelerator programmes, ideation residentials and venture theatre. Venture building as a category is now so broad that it often doesn't accurately reflect the purist nature of our co-creation vehicle.
Cambridge Future Tech is a venture builder in the realest sense. We proactively scout nationally and create ventures as co-founding partners, by hand, with vast amounts of resource.
We are low volume, high conviction.
We have the UK’s leading pre-incorporation tech scouting function, operating in the low-traction but high-possibility zone. The zone where nobody else operates. We scout in the labs, speaking to professors and students at the point of inception, before the idea to even create a company has formed, working on possibilities and potential. As such, we create companies that wouldn’t otherwise exist.
We are building a direct portfolio of deep tech ventures, and we operate with corporate partners where market demand is already clear.
The results speak for themselves.

We operate nationally to identify the best technology, manage the spinout process and recruit world-leading technical talent. Literal Labs became Northern Gritstone’s first Newcastle University investment, co-led by Mercuri, with SVV and CFT SPV.

Sourcing technology from the world’s leading research labs, we partnered with Nokia Bell Labs to create OmniBuds, a ‘world-first computing platform.’ With significant traction in the USA, Cambridge Future Tech led the Pre-Seed round, investing via SPV.

Transforming the data centre industry by founding one of the University of Hull’s first ever spinouts: Dew Point Systems. In 2025 the CFT team uncovered over 1000 opportunities, scouting technology in university laboratories and research groups across the UK.

We work on behalf of global corporate partners to solve the world’s most pressing challenges. Identifying the technology through nationwide scouting, Cambridge Future Tech built PeroCycle to commercialise carbon recycling for lower emission steel making - investing off balance-sheet and appointing a leading CEO.

Cambridge Future Tech ventures continue to build significant traction with top-tier corporate investors, including Morgan Stanley’s investment into Mimicrete- featured on the Nasdaq billboard in Times Square.
